Title Sr. Accountant- Charlotte, NC
Job Description Eaton Corporation, a diversified industrial manufacturer, has an opening for a Sr. Accountant at its Clutch assembly facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. Key functions of this position include the following:
A. Performing accounting functions of maintaining standard costs, calculating labor rates, updating manufacturing labor routings, maintaining material prices.
B. Assist in month end closings, preparing journal entries, variance analysis, and various financial reports.
C. Provide assistance in monthly forecasting, annual strategic planning, and annual profit plan.
D. Maintains corporate fixed asset and capital project database for the Charlotte plant.
E. Assist in the design and application of the annual physical inventory plan. Provide training classes for designated employees.
F. Conducts annual fixed asset inventory and reconciles capital to corporate project database.
G. Prepares monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
H Develop and perform special projects and analysis as directed by Plant Controller
I. Work directly with the Controller and Plant Management on costing activities and analysis projects. Provide verbal and written communication for management team on cost analysis results and suggestions.
J. Ensure continued plant compliance with SOX requirements.
K. Perform post-audits on capital projects, reporting results to management.
L. Perform post-audits on cost savings submittals, reporting results to management.
M. Assists in training new employees.
N. Assists in maintaining an atmosphere of continuous improvement and actively contributes to the team effort for accomplishing department and plant goals.
Job Qualifications
/Educational Requirements Candidates for this position should meet the following qualifications:
B.S. degree in Accounting or Business Administration (with Accounting emphasis)
2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
Familiar with standard GAAP concepts, practices and procedures with accounting and financial reporting.
Excellent PC skills, with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Effective oral and written communications skills, along with strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
