Title Environmental, Health and Safety Analyst
Job Description Primary Function:
The EHS Analyst is responsible for implementation and maintenance of the Environmental Health and Safety Programs within the facility. He/She will continuously execute and evaluate the EHS and Eaton MESH programs to identify and implement improvement opportunities. The EHS Analyst will f acilitate process development and documentation, provide technical and administrative leadership, and administer training to ensure regulatory and MESH compliance. The EHS Analyst also assists with development and achievement of strategic initiatives designed to produce verifiable world-class manufacturing performance.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
§ Responsible for overall implementation of the Environmental Health and Safety Program and continual evaluation of the program to identify and implement improvement opportunities. Directs and/or supports development and deployment of EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 registration, VPP, Industria Limpia, etc.) as appropriate.
§ Ensures that inspections and job hazard analyses are conducted and that corrective actions are identified and implemented.
§ Responds to environmental, health and safety concerns; identifies and implements corrective actions. Monitors and manages all waste streams to ensure proper disposal. Coordinates third party industrial hygiene audits and hazard assessments as needed.
§ Ensures that all safety programs (lockout/tagout, hazard communication, hearing conservation, personal protective equipment, etc.) are fully implemented and in compliance.
§ Ensures that all EHS-related training is conducted as needed. Evaluates training programs to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
§ Assists investigation of accidents and near-misses; ensures that causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented. Ensures that all occupational illnesses and injuries are recorded according to OSHA standards.
§ Maintains a listing of all on site chemicals and current Material Safety Data Sheets.
§ Ensures that Form R’s, Tier 1/Tier 2, air emissions and permit reports are submitted accurately and timely. Submits regular and requested test reports to POTW as needed.
§ Establishes and maintains relationships with governmental authorities on matters of mutual concern including voluntary certification, maintenance of environmental permits, submission of required reports, and maintenance of data.
§ Coordinates and evaluates Emergency Evacuation Procedures and Drills.
§ Complies with Eaton’s ethics policy and keeps management informed of issues associated with regulatory compliance.
§ Assists with development of annual capital budget planning. Lead/manage capital projects where appropriate.
§ Provide technical support and direction to work cell(s).
§ Coordinate and/or assist with plant layout and work cell floor plans
§ Lead and/or coordinate assessment of procedures, work instructions, EHS programs, etc.
§ Lead and participate in various cross functional continuous improvement teams and activities.
Job Qualifications
/Educational Requirements Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Bachelors Degree required, preferably in an EHS or Engineering discipline. Minimum of three years of experience in EHS implementation in a manufacturing environment with strong knowledge of quality standards, statistical methods, and continuous improvement tools. Proven project management, planning, and problem solving abilities required. Computer proficiency in MS Office required. Position will require excellent written and oral communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills to lead and train diverse and cross functional teams.
