PITTSBURGH, PA — Power management company Eaton today announced it has become an Industrial Affiliate Member of the Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) CyLab Security and Privacy Institute. The CMU CyLab was founded in 2003 and is one of the largest university-based cybersecurity research and education centers in the United States. Through the affiliation, Eaton’s Cybersecurity Center of Excellence will be provided access to CMU’s research reports, resources and planning sessions targeting the ever-changing challenges of cybersecurity.

Eaton’s Cybersecurity Center of Excellence is a global team established in 2016 providing leadership and oversight of the strategic planning, execution and assessment of power management products and solutions to ensure they are adequately developed to protect customers against current and future threats. In collaboration with the CMU CyLab, Eaton’s cybersecurity experts will continue identifying, evaluating and reporting on cybersecurity risks in order to continually meet compliance and regulatory requirements, and develop anticipatory responses to minimize cybersecurity risk.
